Tennessee Family Fun
Wilderness Wildlife Week launches today in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. With more than 250 activities- classes, hikes, workshops, concerts, and much more, it’s easy to see why this annual family-friendly 5-day event has received so many awards. And the best part? It’s free!
Pigeon Forge just won the Grand Pinnacle Award for best festival…in the world! But Wilderness Wildlife Week is not the only cool family-friendly event happening in this little Smoky Mountain community…
Now is a good time to head up to the mountains, and what better place than that little resort town nestled against the Great Smoky Mountains: Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Here are our top 5 reasons to check out this little Tennessee gem:
When we spotted the big plastic balls of Outdoor Gravity Park rolling down the hill, the first thing I thought of was that adorable gerbil-powered ball rolling into my kids 4-H meeting, and I had to laugh. We had just hopped off the Parkway in Pigeon Forge for an alternative family adventure: who knew that riding down a hilly slope in a giant plastic sphere could be so much fun!
Riding down the winding loops, and curves of the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster, the only sound I heard was my own breath- I imagine it was like skiing (I haven’t tried that yet) becoming one with the mountain- something you can only experience for yourself. It wasn’t at all like the screeching and screaming rollercoaster rides I had taken in the past, though I probably was responsible for most of the screaming myself; this was an absolutely unique experience.
