Adventures of Mom is a Family Adventure Blog containing posts pertaining to parenting, motivation, and travel with lots of ideas and ways to connect (or reconnect) with your kids. We are a real live family taking real adventures.

We only collect your personal data when
(1) You leave comments on posts, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
(2) You subscribe to our mailing list to receive our newsletter. We use Mail Chimp to deliver our newsletter, and their GDPR compliant contact form on our website. It collects first name and email address and stores that information on our Mail Chimp account. This is used only to deliver our Adventures of Mom newsletter. You may unsubscribe or change or email preferences at any time through the mail letter you receive.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. WordPress does not share any personal data with anyone and neither do we. If you sign up for our newsletter, you must check the opt-in box to agree to receive our newsletter. Your name & email will be stored with Mail Chimp for our newsletters only. You can unsubscribe from that newsletter anytime- with no hard feelings.

We partner with Rakuten Marketing, who may collect personal information when you interact with our site, including IP addresses, digital identifiers, information about your web browsing and app usage and how you interact with this website and ads for a variety of purposes, such as personalizing offers, analytics about how you engage with websites or their ads, and other commercial purposes. How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. You may request your comment be removed by emailing The Adventures of Mom at swhite@adventuresofmom.com. Please refer to the post/page your comment is on so we can remove it immediately.
What rights you have over your data
Your data belongs to you. If you have have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
