Need some last minute gifts for those adventurers in your life?
We’ve got some ideas!
Books for the Adventurous Soul
My daughter is a reading fanatic, and after devouring the entire ill-fated Series of Unfortunate Events, she gobbled up the Harry Potter books and is now hooked on Greek mythology along with Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson. You may not be able to give your kids a trip hiking through New Zealand, but these adventure book series will send them to places (in their mind) and open up their imaginations. You can pick any of these series books up at your local bookstore or through Amazon.
Adventure series may not be an adult’s preference, but what about a guide book to an exciting destination? Take advantage of Amazon Prime’s next day delivery to snag some special guide books like this Key West & Lower Key’s Guide Book. The Yankee Freedom Ferry often offers half-priced trips to the Dry Tortugas National Park from Key West. Definitely a dream-worthy destination 😉
Looking for more local adventures? A hiking guide like 50 Hikes in Central Florida, 50 Hikes in the North Georgia Mountains, or Hiking Waterfalls in Georgia and South Carolina.
Guided Gifts
A few years ago, I gave my husband a fishing charter as a Christmas present. I had purchased it off of Groupon. You have to sign up for Groupon first, then search for ‘fishing charters’ and add the location you need. When you buy one, you can select ‘give as a gift’ option, and then either print or email the certificate to that favorite angler in your life.
As an alternative, you can call one of the fishing charter services near you from their website contact info and ask if they will do a gift certificate for you. Many will. Captain Debbie Hanson of SheFishes2 is one of the charter services that will do this. She’s a Southwest Florida guide.
Adventure Trips to Suit the Budget
Over the years I’ve given paddle trips and I’ve recently heard that Mike Sage from Silver Springs Kayaking LLC is doing gift certificates this year! Also there is 50% kayak rentals (not a guided trip) in Crystal River via Groupon right now! Other ideas, are bowling and golf packages, and even zip-lining!
The Gift of Knowledge
Gift a subscription to Audible– audio books for one month all the way to twelve months.
Or gift a course from Udemy- with subjects ranging from intensive coding to writing a novel and learning to speak Russian. They have some good deals this time of year.
From books to bowling, fishing to zipping across canyons. Last minute gifts for the adventurers in your life! Have a great Christmas!
