Exploring Florida’s Waccasassa River
Somewhere on Florida’s Gulf coast between Yankee Town and Cedar Key lies a slice of Florida Wilderness that not many get to see. Check out the latest Adventures of Mom Quick YouTube video: Exploring the Waccasassa River:
About The Waccasassa River
The Waccasassa River is a DIY adventure (and a spelling challenge!). Before you leave, check the weather (and tides). The areas outside the marked channel in the Gulf are very shallow- so be warned! The Gulf Hammock boat ramp on County Road 326 (off of Highway 19) does have basic toilets, but there are no other amenities in the area. Bring your own water, food, fishing bait and gas (if necessary) for the boat!
