I am a travel addict, an artist, a writer, a farmer and a mom. I grew up perusing National Geographic magazines- the story on Robyn Davidson trekking solo across Australia struck chords deep within me. My youth was spent exploring botanical gardens, historical homes and state parks with my family, caves, swamps and limestone canyons with my friends.
I backpacked around the world in my youth and eventually settled on a little Greek island near Albania, milking goats and picking olives. Then my sister passed away. She was two years older than I. Life felt more precious and fragile than ever. After much soul-searching, I returned stateside. I reconnected with my family and began one of my own.
A SAHM with a toddler and a barely 5 year old, we moved to another town, where I didn’t know a person. We explored this new town, the kids and I, armed with picnic lunches and hope. I started this blog to share those neat places we discovered and record the ones past.
I’m hoping to inspire other parents to help build strong family bonds through travel, everyday life, and embracing a healthy, outdoor lifestyle.
Life is so precious and so short. Hug your kids every day, no matter how old they are. They might try and shirk away today, but twenty-thirty years later, it will be remembered and appreciated.
Life is an adventure and you are the hero- make your life extraordinary!
